Tomorrow night I’m hosting a pre UK launch screening of the film Amazing Grace.

I’ve saw the film last year at a pre-pre launch screening in London. The film is about the life of William Wilberforce who worked as a member of Parliament to change the laws on slavery. John Newton also appears in the film – the reformed slave ship captain who wrote the hymn Amazing Grace.

Wilberforce lived in Yorkshire, went to school in Pocklington and was Member of Parliament for Hull … so for me he is a local lad. At school (Wolfreton School Hull) I was in Wilberforce house.
