I took the kids into town this afternoon for the baptisms outside St Mikes. As last year, the Arch Bishshop of York, John Sentamu, was leading the activities.

Today is Shrove Tuesday, also known a Mardi Gras (literally ‘Fat Tuesday’) and referred to by most as Pancake Day. Tomorrow starts the beginning of Lent.
